Aubrey Huff's A Detroit Tiger

The Detroit Tigers have acquired Aubrey Huff from the Baltimore Orioles. In return they gave up Relief Pitching prospect Brett Jacobson.

What did the Tigers really give away in the trade?

- Jacobson is a 6-6 205 Righty that attended Vanderbilt. He was selected by Detroit in the 2008 Draft in the 4th Round. He was previously selected by the Arizona Diamondbacks in 11th round of 2005 draft.

- Brett Jacobson has a nice fastball that reaches the middle 90's (91-95) and makes it look very easy. He also has a change piece and slider in his pitch arsenal.

I have personally saw Jacobson throw when he played for the West Michigan Whitecaps of The Midwest League & The Single A Affiliate the Tigers. Located just outside of Grand Rapids, Michigan. He only threw around 30 innings but posted a 1.52 ERA with 31 K's. He did however give up 26 hits. Yet always worked out of it. As we are sort of use to in Detroit with Todd Jones and even Rodney.

In Return the Tigers get Huff who can be when on be a middle of the line up hitter. He can play 1st and 3rd, Left Field and DH. He can really help out Inge and get his some rest for his bad legs.

Overall this is a nice move by Detroit and it might really pay off if he gets hot. It's another Left handed bat which they could use. Huff really wanted out of Baltimore. Let's hope Detroit is the right fit.
