In the words of Charles Barkley, Just Teerrrible!........Nate Robertson Sucks!

Yesterday when I was doing my daily dose of Detroit Tigers research I noticed the probable pitchers. Guess who the 1st place Tigers had on the mound? Yes Nate Robertson. Exactly what the Blue Jays needed to give the Tigers their 4th straight loss. But wait don't worry Tigers fans just in case Robertson gets hit around or hurt (I'm not sure if the Nate's injury hurt or helped the Tigers) they have Armando Galarraga! Wow. Well the Tigers do a have 5.5 game lead over the Twins and 6 ahead of the White Sox but when you start Nate, and bring in Armando you can't tell me you expect to win the game. You Play To Win The Game! Armando has an ERA just a few points under 5 and half at 5.46 as Nate's ERA is at 5.35. I do however have a little more confidence in Armando but the Texas Rangers gave up on him when pitching for them has never been rock solid. I know it's nothing to panic over, (Maybe I should focus on their hitting) but it was a pretty unbearable game to watch. To conclude this rant I would like to end with one comment. Nate Robertson is in no way a power pitcher, he thinks he needs to use a bull dog mentality out there in seasons past and we found that stopped working last season. He now tries to be more of a finesse pitcher ala Kenny Rogers. (This didn't work either, you have to throw strikes) Is this going to be another situation where the Tigers will waive Nate and just eat the contract? I wouldn't hate to see it but then again I'm not paying him either. He really is just taking a spot away from someone who actually may contribute to the Tigers winning efforts.

Ernie Harwell Has Tumor, A Very Sad Day For Baseball

Ernie Harwell is one of the most memorable Tigers and never even had one at bat or threw one pitch. With some very sad news Mr. Harwell told the media he has a tumor that him and his family have decided not to medically treat. Harwell is 91 years old and has a historic and very healthy life up until this news today. He was retired but made commercials for Blue Cross and also wrote a column in the Free Press and made a few books and an Audio Scrapbook. It's a sad day for all of Tigers fans but I'm sure Mr. Harwell would like us to just think of the positives. Thanks for everything Mr. Harwell a true Detroit Tigers Legend.
